Action at the ExxonMobil Futsal Tournament 2022 is scheduled to commence Friday night at the Retrieve Hard Court in Linden, Mackenzie, with an opening ceremony.
The official list of participating teams are; Nut Man Allstars fc, One Mile All Stars, Team Unknown, Silver Bullets FC, Amelia’s Ward FC, Young Kinds FC, One Side FC, Police FC, Team R9 FC, Coomaca FC, Goal Getters, Money Green FC, DC Ballers FC, Arima FC, Achievers FC, West Side Ballers.
The Final will be played on November 5th, 2022, where the teams who make it to the final will have a showdown for first place and a cash prize of 500,000. A project will also be executed by New Era in the community where the winning team hails from.
ExxonMobil is the official Title sponsor of this event that was organised by New Era Entertainment.
In the past, New Era Entertainment and ExxonMobil Guyana have partnered to host two senior team tournaments and a school tournament. ExxonMobil Guyana also funded the construction of a bleacher at the Mackenzie Sports Club and partnered with New Era Entertainment to distribute kites in Linden schools during the Easter period.
The annual Futsal tournament was pioneered in 2016 by the young Directors at New Era Entertainment with the aim of strengthening the presence of sporting events in Linden.
In addition to Exxon Mobil, Prime Minister Brigadier (ret’d) Mark Phillips, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Honourable Charles Ramson and the Guyana Football Federation also supported the event.
