Linden duo granted bail for pyramid scheme fraud

Two Lindeners on Wednesday were granted bail after appearing before Magistrate Wanda Fortune, at the Linden Magistrate Court, to answer to five charges of obtaining money by false pretense. The Duo 41 year-old Dwayne Charles, a bus driver of Central Amelia’s Ward Linden and Claire Joseph, a 48 year-old accountant, also of Central Amelia’s Ward Linden, pleaded not guilty to the five counts of obtaining the sum of $21, 500 under false pretense from Gavin Munroe, Vernon Richmond, Leslie Jervis, Odetta Hall and Salome Henry.

They were granted $40,000 in bail on one matter and self-bail on four other matters. They will return to court on 12^th January 2021. They were represented by Attorney-at-Law Leslyn Charles. The duo were required to lodge their passports and report to the Mackenzie Police Station every last Friday of every month until the case is closed.
