THE TRUTH IN BLACK AND WHITE

Autopsy conducted on 8-year-old Linden boy

A post-mortem examination was on Monday conducted on Andre Thompson, an 8-year-old resident of Lot 839 South Amelia’s Ward, who was found hanging by relatives last week. The examination which was conducted by Government pathologist Dr. Nehaul Sigh, concluded that the cause of death is compression injuries to the neck which is consistent with hanging.

According to a police report, the child was at home with his parents and siblings and about 13:30hrs they retired to bed leaving the child in his room, subsequently about 17:30hrs checks were made to the room for him by his mother and he was not seen.

When family members searched the yard, the child was “ discovered hanging from a wood attached to a domestic rearing pen with a jersey around his neck.”

He was taken to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
