A unidentified male succumbed this morning after a Lorry driven by Lindener, Orael Davis, a 28-year-old male of MacKenzie, Linden collided with him. According to the police, Motor Lorry #GAB 1668 owned by Mark Forrester, a 23-year-old male of MacKenzie, Linden was proceeding north along the western side of the said road when the pedestrian, who was sitting on a tyre on the western side of the road, suddenly ran from west going east and into the path of the motor lorry.
The driver of the motor lorry then applied brakes but because of the short distance the left side front collided with the pedestrian.
As a result, the pedestrian fell onto the road surface and received injuries about his head and body.
The pedestrian was picked up in an unconscious condition by the police and was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Center where he was seen and examined by doctors on duty and was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body was then escorted to Carmen’s Funeral Home for storage, awaiting identification and post mortem examination.
The driver was administered a breathalyzer test but no trace of alcohol was found in his system. He in presently in custody assisting with the ongoing investigation.
