Linden woman succumbs following Linden Highway blow out accident

Deceased- Marva Alder

A 69-year-old Linden woman is dead after the driver of the vehicle she was travelling to Linden in, lost control following a blow out of its left side front wheel. Dead is Marva Alder of Lot 132 Wismar Housing Scheme Linden. According to the police, the accident occurred on Thursday evening around 19:00hrs in the vicinity of Long Creek on the Linden Soesdyke Highway.

Enquiries disclosed that Hire car HD 3772 driven at the time by Keion Hope, 40, of Phase 1 B Wisroc Housing Scheme Linden, was proceeding south along the eastern side of Long Creek Public Road, when the driver alleged that his left side front wheel had a blow out, after which he lost control of the vehicle and it toppled several times down a ditch on the eastern side of the road. Marva Alder was taken out of the vehicle in an unconscious condition and was examined by a doctor from the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and was pronounced dead.

Passengers Simone Barker ,Mervyn Mc Andrew and Joel Mc Andrew all of Linden, were taken out of the vehicle in a conscious condition and was taken to the Linden Hospital Complex where they were seen and examined by doctors on duty. Simone Barker was admitted as a patient in the female surgical ward suffering from head injuries while Mervyn Mc Andrew and Joel Mc Andrew were admitted for observation. The driver took a breathalyzer test but but no trace of alcohol was found.
