On Thursday, the 10th edition of Guinness in the Streets, Linden edition, was launched at the Golden Taste Fish Shop, Wismar, Linden. This year, 25 teams will be competing for the grand prize of $500,000. The second, third and fourth prizes will be $400,000, $300,000 and $250,000 respectfully. There will be five playing days, and the first game will be played at the Wismar to Mackenzie Bus Park. Other venues include the Silvercity Hardcourt, the Amelia’s Ward Hardcourt and the Retrieve Hardcourt. All matches are expected to start at 19:00 sharp.
Present at the launch were Sales Representative of Banks DIH Omarion Gordon, and coordinators of this year’s tournament Kelon Josiah, Raul Gittens and Cleavleand Daniels. Participating teams include Swag Entertainment, ABG, Team Fearless, Coomacka Mines, High Flyers, Spaniards, Excuse The Rush, Tidal Wave FC, Hard Ball Management, Universal Ballers, Super Striker, Young Gunners, V. Side, BB Ballers, Top Strikers, One Syde, Aoriama, YMCA, High Rollers, Turf President, Double 6, DC Ballers, Silver Bullets, Assa Ballers and Pro Ballers.
Game days will on May 11th, 17th, 18th, 22nd and 24th. On the first game day, the defendant, Swag Entertainment, last year’s winners will play to start the tournament against ABG, followed by Fearless Vs Coomacka Mines, Highflyers Vs Spaniards, Excuse The Rush Vs Tidal Wave FC, Hard Ball Vs Universal Ballers and Super Striker Vs Young Gunners. The matching of the other games will be done before the next game day.
