THE TRUTH IN BLACK AND WHITE

Alternative Mini Mart and Jai Signs Children’s Foundation partner for Christmas hamper initiative

The Alternative Mini Mart which is the ‘buy local’ shop in Linden has partnered with Jai Signs Children’s Foundation to put a smile on the faces of the less fortunate this holiday season, with hampers of locally manufactured products. Proprietor of Alternative Mini Mart, Kevin DeJonge, in expressing appreciation to Jai Signs Children’s Foundation for supporting the venture, said it in an annual one, which includes the partnership of the MC’s Institute, the Elite Minds Youth Group and the Young Challengers Youth Group. This is for us to put a smile on persons who cannot otherwise get a smile on their faces at this time of the year, is a blessing,” he said. It is his hope that the initiative will grow from strength to strength

. In addition to the hampers, the Alternative Mini Mart, is also retailing and wholesaling local food items such as chicken, eggs and ‘pepperpot’ meat at a reduced cost. While the recipients of the hampers will benefit, the local producers will equally benefit from the initiative given most items were sourced from the inventory of the Alternative Mini Mart, which is an exclusive retailer of local products.

Representative of Jai Signs Children’s Foundation Anthony Whyte explained that the cash donation will fund some of the hampers and that the foundation was happy to partner with DeJonge to bring joy to the less fortunate during the season of joy. ‘We love giving back, and giving back to the less fortunate as well, so this partnership will definitely not be the last and we hope that it will go a far way to those who will benefit.”
