Linden business owners benefit from National Small Business Week activity

  • Urged to join the Linden Chamber of Commerce

In observance of National Small Business Week 2023, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with GTT and the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce hosted a small business empowerment session in Linden on Saturday and scores of small business owners and young entrepreneurs benefited from the activity.

The two-fold event which took place at Egbert Benjamin Conference Centre and the Wismar River Front included interactive discussions with executives of the Linden Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Development (LCICD) and other stakeholders on access to finance, partnerships, documenting, pivoting, managing and branding among other strategies that will help develop their products and businesses.

LCICD located in the LEN Business Incubator, Republic Avenue, Mackenzie, does not only facilitate business registration for prospective business owners but assist members with technical support, networking and partnership opportunities for their businesses. In this regard, President Lyndon Young urged small business owners to join the organization to tap into these opportunities.

Young commended the organizers for hosting such a timely activity. “ I believe with this type of information they are more equipped to compete, and deliver a certain level of standards to customers to help in the economic development of Linden and more so our country.”

Representative from the Georgetown Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chair of the Entrepreneurship Small Business Committee, Evie Gurchuran, said the objective of this year’s celebration is make small business owners visible not only in the Chamber but across all media sources.

One business owner expressed how grateful she is for the information shared. She said, “I am elated about the information shared today and I will try my best to apply what was learnt.”

Small business owners are encouraged to join the Chamber of Commerce in their region for better business opportunities.

 The Georgetown Chambers of Commerce and Industry is hosting it’s 2nd National Small Business Week in partnership with GTT and the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce and this year they are committed to embracing the concept of ‘NATIONAL’, by creating opportunities for successful collaborations between small businesses in regional economic hubs.
