An 81-year-old woman on Monday morning, perished in her home, that went up in flames around 02:00 hrs on Monday morning. She has been identified as Norma Semple, of Block 22, Wismar Linden. She was living alone in a wooden two-storey house.
Neighbours said they were awaken by screams of her calling for help. Regional Chairman Deron Adams, who was on the scene, said firemen responded quickly but was unable to save anything. It is speculated, that the fire may have been linked to electrical issues.
