Youth Officer appointed to Region 10

Youth Officer Kenisha Dey Venture


Lindener Kenisha Dey Venture was recently appointed to Region 10 as a youth officer at the Regional Democratic Office. Venture serves as a liaison between the youth demographic and other stakeholders in the region, including government officials, community leaders, and the media, to assist youths in the region in their various ventures. She said, “I strive to create a supportive environment where young people are empowered to realize their full potential and contribute positively to society.”
Her duties as the youth officer are to encourage youth engagement, networking, advocacy, programme development and implementation. Venture explained that as the youth officer, she will be networking to build and maintain relationships with youth leaders, organizations, and influencers, to foster collaboration and exchange of ideas in an effort to actively engage youths. This will enable her to better understand their needs, interests, and concerns and she will also advocate for youth-related issues within the region both internally and externally, to ensure that their voices are heard and their rights are respected.

Venture promises to development and implement programmes and initiatives such as educational workshops, skills-building activities and community service projects. Her office will work along with community leaders, local government officials, youth organizations, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, volunteers, mentors and the business community. “My mission statement is to empower and advocate for the youths of Region 10 by fostering inclusive, innovative, and sustainable opportunities for growth, development, and active participation in shaping their communities and futures through collaboration, advocacy, and leadership.”
