The condition of a Guyana Defence Force rank is listed as stable but serious, as he remains warded at the Linden Hospital Complex (LHC) nursing stab wounds received during a fight with civilians, at a party at Block 22, Wismar, Linden.
Commander of Region 10 Hugh Winter, confirmed this and related that investigations revealed the incident occurred on Saturday evening and that Selwyn Cummerbatch, a 30 year-old Corporal, along with another officer was involved in a fight with civilians and he was dealt several stabs.
The other officer was treated and sent home. No arrest has been made as yet.
Investigations are ongoing.
